Dr. Pierre NICOLAU studied at the Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier. It is the oldest medical school in the world still in operation, training doctors for over a thousand years … hence its reputation for excellence.
He then specialized in Plastic Surgery. In 1976 there were in France very few surgical units specialized only in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. In most teaching hospitals, this specialty was taught in departments of oral and maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology and head and neck surgery, or orthopedic surgery and hand surgery units.
Therefore, after completing his training, he went for extra training for nearly four years in England, where the cosmetic and plastic surgery had developed considerably since the end of World War II, with particular care to burns. He has also worked in Houston, Texas.
Back in France in 1983, in addition to its liberal private activity, he always maintained a hospital activity, with special concern for the most serious reconstructive surgery cases: burnt children and adults, breast and skin surgery, and with the rise of obesity surgery, surgical treatment of massive weight losses.
Until the end of 2014, he has worked as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon for the Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris, at the University Hospital Saint Louis, Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit of Professor M. Mimoun, and  for over 10 years in Colombes, University Hospital Louis Mourier, as the Consultant Plastic Surgeon to the reference center for the treatment of morbid obesity.

He has conducted humanitarian missions in Pakistan, Vietnam, Africa, where he continues to travel several times a year. As an Expert, he was sent on an official mission by the French government to Pakistan to monitor a project to create four major burns centers in 1997;
Of international renown, he has taught in more than 345 teaching courses and workshops, more than 200 of them dedicated to skin fillers. He has given more than 200 conferences and communications in international congresses, and has published 55 articles and book chapters in international reviews.
He was responsible for teaching Aesthetic Surgery Procedures to Junior Surgeons at the the University Hospitals in Paris, and was a member of the Scientific Editorial Committee of IMCAS.
He is responsible for teaching at the University PARIS V- PARIS XII, Hôpital TARNIER – COCHIN, course on “Evaluation and Control of Injection and Filling Techniques in Dermatology and Plastic Surgery”, “Biological effects of Injectable Fillers”, “Anatomy and Physiology anf Aging face” since its beginning in 2003.

Practicing both Cosmetic and Reconstructive work is a guarantee of safety and professionalism. He knows how to put an aesthetic sense in reconstructive surgery, and surgical rigor into aesthetics.
